he long-awaited Grand Theft Auto 6 is finally launching on May 26, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and Rockstar is pulling out all the stops. While we haven’t seen raw gameplay footage yet, screenshots, trailers, and Rockstar’s track record give us plenty to be excited about.

Here are 15 confirmed or nearly confirmed gameplay features in GTA 6 that are sure to get you hyped — or make the wait even more agonizing.

1. Gymming Returns — Train Like It’s San Andreas

Gym activities are back in GTA 6, and early images suggest they’ll work similarly to GTA: San Andreas. Lucia is shown punching a heavy bag, while Jason is seen lifting weights on the beach. While we don’t yet know if this affects your character’s physique, it’s clear there are stat-based gains or gameplay benefits tied to working out.

2. Basketball – Confirmed!

Basketball courts are scattered across Vice City (inspired by Miami), and now it’s confirmed: NPCs play rooftop basketball. While Lucia or Jason weren’t shown dunking, it’s safe to assume players can join in. Basketball hasn’t been playable since San Andreas — it’s about time.

3. Billiards — Bar Games Are Back

A screenshot shows Jason lining up a shot at a pool table. Last seen in GTA IV, billiards returns as a playable mini-game. Expect to challenge NPCs — and maybe even compete online in tournaments.

4. Underground Fights – Cage Match Action

Lucia is seen in what appears to be an underground cage fight. Could your gym training influence your brawler stats? Possibly. GTA IV had fight clubs, and this could be a gritty, story-driven side hustle in GTA 6.

5. Hair Growth and Dynamic Hairstyles

In the trailer, Jason rocks both long and short hair across different scenes. Rockstar may be taking notes from Red Dead Redemption 2 and The Witcher 3 by introducing dynamic hair growth, allowing players to hit the barbershop or let it grow wild over time.

6. High-Stakes Heists

The core GTA 6 story involves a heist gone wrong. With a character like Raul Bautista—described as “always on the hunt for talent”—you can expect multiple large-scale robberies, optional heists, and escalating tension. Think GTA V’s heists, but deeper and riskier.

7. Clothing & Apparel Customization

Rockstar is doubling down on fashion and cosmetic options. Lucia and Jason are seen in a wide variety of outfits, suggesting a detailed clothing system. If GTA Online is any indicator, we might even get customization that rivals Cyberpunk 2077 or Black Desert Online.

8. Underwater Exploration

One screenshot shows a diver exploring coral reefs in Leonida Keys, hinting at underwater missions or hidden treasures. Could this be a side quest chain? With potential encounters with sharks or rare loot, diving in GTA 6 might be more than just a visual treat.

9. Fishing – A First for the Series

Fishing is confirmed in GTA 6 — finally! Jason is seen casting a line on a boat, with rumors of diverse species and potential fishing-related challenges. A fishing club with collectible rewards wouldn’t be far-fetched.

10. Gangs and Factions

Expect dynamic faction interactions. From biker gangs like Final Chapter MC to shady cops and rival crews, your choices might influence gang alliances, heat levels, and access to special missions.

11. Mini Golf — It’s Tee Time

Mini golf returns with themed courses like the gator-themed one seen in trailers. Fans of GTA IV mini-games will love the return of casual, quirky pastimes in the midst of chaos.

12. Hunting in Mount Calaga National Park

Nature is back in focus with hunting gameplay, likely featuring predators like mountain lions. The area is dense and wild — a perfect setting for survival missions, photography side quests, or crafting.

13. Dirt Biking and ATVs

For off-road fans, dirt biking and ATV gameplay are alive and well. With muddy trails and wildlife encounters (like a stray raccoon), expect stunts, challenges, and maybe even full-blown racing events in the wilderness.

14. Kayaking – Weather May Change the Game

A screenshot shows a character kayaking upstream next to a flood gauge, hinting at dynamic weather or water levels. This could introduce environmental challenges or timed events based on storms and tides.

15. Ride the Ferris Wheel

Seen behind the Sahara Arena, a Ferris wheel lights up Vice City’s night sky. If past games are any indication, it’ll be fully rideable with cinematic camera options—perfect for catching a breather and snapping in-game photos.

Final Thoughts

From gym workouts and street basketball to underwater diving and kayaking, GTA 6 is shaping up to be Rockstar’s most ambitious and feature-rich title yet. With a release date set for May 26, 2026, this could redefine the open-world genre once again.

So whether you’re here for heists, hunting, or hairstyles, get ready — the wait for GTA VI is almost over. And it’s going to be worth it.
